The Kings of Cool are from the small town of Ballyshannon in the North West corner of Ireland. JasonKelly, Stephen Gallagher and I have played together in many bands over the years and separately in othergroups. When the unexpected stop came to all live music with the arrival of the COVID lockdown, it gave me time to consider what I would do next.

With time to reflect on long walks in quiet surroundings, I found myself starting to hear new melodies in my head and started to write songs again, which I hadn’t done in many years. As time moved on and the lockdown continued, I thought about recording some of these new songs, so I contacted Jason and Stephen to see if they were interested in starting a new project together.

After we recorded our first songs, Jason announced he had also been writing. Suddenly lots of songs started to appear. We are fortunate that Jason, Stephen and myself have a sound that comes naturally and even though most of the songs are guitar pop or soft rock, there are elements of country and jazz music there too.

We now feel the time is right to present most of the songs we have recorded so far which are gathered inone place on this album. We are grateful for all the support and encouragement from friends all over the world online, from radio stations, from press and magazines and from the great musicians that agreed to play on some of the songs.

A special thanks to Kevin Lowry who took all of our recordings and created wonderful mixes.The Kings of Cool are currently writing and recording our next album.I hope you enjoy the music!
